several years ago I came to the realization that the kind of music I really enjoyed shared several key characteristics:

• challenging to the listener . very rarely does a song that appeals to me on the first listen remain worth listening to over the course of time
• lacks 4/4 snore . this one is not a deal breaker, but I strongly prefer unusual time-signatures
• bore no resemblence to the kind of music I was making . that's when everything changed for the better for me as a musician. for you as a listener, that may be a change for the worse—but i hope not

ejefftronic . music . not for everyone_not even close

ejefftronic music does not appeal to the lowest common denominator. Thankfully, this series of tubes that is being overseen by the divine gift we on earth refer to as Sen. Ted Steven's has provided musicians with a more targeted style—and the audients that have an interest in less expected types of listening experiences—a way to reach each other.

The audio palette covers a pretty fair amount of turf, but breaks down into three major categories:

• A = Computer-based, deeply-layered and often polyrythmic sequences, delivering synth and sampled voices
• B = Fully improvised synchronous and asynchronous performance loops voiced with guitar, synth, vocals and abstractions of each
• C = A + B

The alphabet is a project consisting of 26 cd's worth of material - one volume for each letter of the alphabet. This music project is ongoing, and will probably continue for several more years, so check out the alphabet to hear the latest postings.

After my first few attempts at live looping, it occurred to me that a core need of the improvisational looper is to record everything. That's been a challenge I've been unable to meet, but as time moves on I capture one every now and then.
